Before and After

It is Do It Yourself Day at ASPL and here is my latest quickie project......
I recently took a furniture painting class at the Thrill of the Hunt in Greensboro with my good friend Shelley. We both had a blast and have been on a quest for things to paint. She picked this up for me at an estate sale recently...a little birthday gift for me! It is a plant stand. Well, sisters I don't do plants, but I knew I'd find a place for it.
First I painted it with some leftover paint from my new laundry room....which should be revealed soon I hope.
Then I roughed it up with some sandpaper....
Glazed it with some Valspar Raw Umber glaze...this stuff is awesome!
Then I cut off the top half and reattached the table base. I've now got a great drink stand for the corner of the sectional! I never have a place for my drink when I'm nesting in the sectional. I'm forever setting the drink on the floor and kicking it over. I've now solved the problem!! It has a cute little parking space next to the armoire when not in use. It also comes with a "no toys on top" rule!
